WHO WE ARE

The mission of Upper Deer Creek Church is to serve and glorify God by developing disciples of Jesus Christ who actively share God's love and grace right here in our community and around the world. We are a family-friendly church with over 175 years of rich history. While we have seen many things come and go, our mission has never changed -to glorify Jesus!

Vibrant music, earnest prayer, and clear Bible teaching characterize our non-denominational Sunday worship. The real work, however, happens outside these walls. Simply put, we want to love the people in our community- just like Jesus. A church with a family-like feel, and the resources of a large church, we are blessed with the ministries that we offer to the community and our congregation. Our heart is to be a blessing to our community through service; and we try to equip our church to do just that.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Scripture

We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are God-inspired, are without error in their original writings and are the final authority in all matters of life, faith, and practice (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21).

God

We believe in the eternal Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each Person being equal, three parts, but one person (John 1:1, 2, 14; 10:30; 14:16, 26; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

Jesus Christ

We believe in the miraculous virgin birth of Jesus Christ the Lord, who, being God, took upon Himself the form of man, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35).
We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was crucified, died, and was buried as planned by God before the foundation of the world. By the shedding of His blood, His sacrificial death upon the cross became the only source of atonement for the sin, from which man, by personal faith, is redeemed from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin (Romans 3:24, 25; 5:6-11).
We believe in the bodily resurrection and Lordship of Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and his present encouragement and priesthood on the right hand of God for us (Acts 2:32; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; 1 John 2:1).

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the third Person of the Trinity, God's voice of redemption and revelation; that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates those who believe; and indwells, baptizes, seals, empowers, guides, teaches and sanctifies all who become children of God through Christ (1 Corinthians 2:10; 2 Corinthians 3:17, 18; John 16:8-11; Ephesians 3:14-17; Romans 8:14).

Salvation

We believe in salvation by grace through faith; that salvation is the free gift of God, not earned by any work of man, but received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom all true believers have the gift of eternal life. This salvation includes the whole person: spirit, soul and body; and apart from Christ there is no possible salvation (John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23, 24; 8:1, 2; Ephesians 2:8, 9; 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24).

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically challenged, and every other stage of condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value human life (Psalm 139; Jeremiah 1:5).

Marriage

We believe God has ordained marriage and defined it as the covenant relationship between a man, a woman and himself. Upper Deer Creek, Inc. (UDC) will only recognize marriage is between a naturally born biological man and a naturally born biological woman. Further, the pastor(s) and staff of UDC shall only participate in weddings and solemnize marriages between one naturally born biological man and one naturally born biological woman. Finally, the facilities and property of UDC shall only host weddings between one naturally born biological man and one naturally born biological woman (Genesis 2:18-25; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).
